Central Aroostook ARC Work Services

County Box and Pallet

In 1973 Central Aroostook ARC developed a work services program for individuals with developmental disabilities. The goal was to offer a work program that allowed individuals with developmental disabilities an opportunity to improve personal skills, learn a trade and earn a wage while providing a service to our community.

Currently, our Work Services Program employs 30 individuals with developmental disabilities. Our 15 employees work hand in hand with each individual to provide the training and personal development that will enable each individual to reach their personal goal. Work Services Programs includes:

County Box and Pallet – Reclaim, Recycle, and Reuse - Since 1996 we have refurbished or built new pallets for businesses throughout the state of Maine.  Our unique service reclaims once unusable pallets into "like new" recycled pallets.

Aroostook Shredding, a division of Central Aroostook ARC, specializes in confidential document destruction. In 2007, Aroostook Shredding became a member of the National Association of Information Destruction (NAID) and in 2009 became fully accredited. At the Presque Isle Recycling Center, individuals work daily sorting different types of paper for the City of Presque Isle.
