History
In 1959, Central Aroostook ARC, then known as Association for Retarded Children, was established due to the efforts of several local families. Through their dedication, Central Aroostook ARC developed day habilitation, residential, personal supports and shared living programs, case management, and also several businesses. From Central Aroostook ARC’s date of inception to the present, parental influence has been a key factor to the success of the Association. A 15-member Board of Directors continues to be the steward for the mission of Central Aroostook ARC, We thank various funding sources such as the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Education, United Way of Aroostook, and all other agencies that contribute to our programs.
